Chapter One: Introduction
1.1 Background of the Study
Festivals are vital components of cultural preservation, social integration, and economic development, often serving as a platform for showcasing traditions and fostering community pride. In Zaria Local Government Area, Kaduna State, festivals such as Durbar and other traditional celebrations attract significant participation, highlighting the importance of effective organization to meet the expectations of both locals and visitors. Community feedback is a valuable tool in improving the planning and execution of these festivals, as it provides insights into the needs, preferences, and challenges faced by participants. However, despite the recognized importance of incorporating community input, festival organizers in Zaria often face challenges in systematically collecting and utilizing this feedback. This study investigates the effectiveness of community feedback in improving festival organization in Zaria, emphasizing its role in enhancing participant satisfaction and the overall success of festivals.
